ACCA Exam Dates for 2025:
When (and how) should you take your next exam?

Getting your ACCA exam dates right is crucial for a smooth and successful journey. It’s not just about what you study, but also when and how you take your exams.
This guide will help you easily plan around the ACCA exam dates, understand your booking options, and make smart choices that fit your life.
The basics of booking your ACCA exams
Booking your exams with ACCA is a straightforward online process.
You do it directly through your myACCA account. Before you can book, you must first be a registered ACCA student. Once you’re logged in, you’ll use the exam planner to select your preferred session, papers, and either a centre-based or remote option.
Make sure your account has no outstanding fees, as this can prevent you from booking. It’s also a great idea to book during the standard entry period to avoid higher late entry fees.
What are the ACCA exam dates and deadlines for 2025?
The ACCA exam dates are spread across 4 exam sessions a year in March, June, September, and December. Here’s a breakdown of the key ACCA exam dates for the remaining sessions in 2025:
The September standard and late entry dates have now passed, but the exam dates are the 1st to 5th September.
You can however still apply for the December session, and the key ACCA exam dates are as follows:
- Exam Dates: 1st to 5th December 2025
- Standard Entry Deadline: 27th October 2025
- Late Entry Deadline: 3rd November 2025
Please note that these are the main session dates for the majority of papers. Applied Knowledge exams (BT, MA, FA) and some Applied Skills exams (LW) are on-demand CBEs (Computer-Based Exams), which means you can sit them at any time throughout the year at an approved centre.
Can I do the exams from home?
Yes – ACCA offers great flexibility with its session-based exams, allowing you to choose between taking them at a physical exam centre or from home via remote invigilation.
- Centre-Based Exams: These are held at designated ACCA exam centres. You are provided with all the necessary equipment in a structured, controlled environment. This is a great choice if you prefer a traditional exam hall setting and want to avoid potential distractions at home.
- Remote Exams: This option allows you to take your exam from your own home or a private, quiet space. You’ll need a reliable computer, a stable internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone. Remote exams are monitored live by a human invigilator via your webcam. This option is perfect if you live far from an exam centre, want to save on travel costs, or simply feel more comfortable in your own space.
How to choose what’s best for you
The decision between a centre or remote exam is a personal one. When considering your ACCA exam dates, think about these factors:
- Your Environment: Is your home a quiet, distraction-free space with a reliable internet connection?
- Technology: Do you have the required technical equipment? Remote exams require you to pass a mandatory system test beforehand.
- Personal Preference: Do you perform better in a formal, structured environment, or do you prefer the comfort and familiarity of your own surroundings?
Optimum time for studying
A common question is “how long should I study for?”
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, as it depends on your existing knowledge, work commitments, and personal life. However, a general rule of thumb is to give yourself at least 8-12 weeks of focused study for a single Strategic Professional paper. For the Applied Skills and Applied Knowledge papers, a slightly shorter time frame might be sufficient.
The ACCA qualification is designed to be flexible, and considering the ACCA exam dates, you can choose to sit 1 paper at each of the 4 sittings a year, or a couple of papers at 2 sittings. A common and effective strategy is to sit 2 exams in the June and December sittings, giving you ample time to study and focus on your papers.
